John 4:34-38 (Jesus speaking)
My meat is to do the will of the Father that sent me and to finish his work.
Don't we say there are 4 months until the harvest comes?
Behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto eternal life:
that both the one who sows and the one who reaps may rejoice together.
And here is that saying true, One sowed and another reaped.
I sent you to reap so that where you did not labor, other men labored, and you are entered into their labors.

ReplyDeletewonderful post Jonathan.
I also love this post, Jonathan, and I cannot help but think of a dream that I had and was so real to me. I think I told you and Manasseh about it before where in the dream my husband was driving my vehicle. We were in the country and we passed by 2 people walking on the side of the road. Then he said, "I'm pulling over and we are going to walk from here." There was nothing wrong with the vehicle. It was my vehicle and I should have been driving it (some say that is my ministry) :) We got out and started walking and the rolling hills beside us were covered completely with small off-white flakes as far as the eye could see. The two people walking were behind us and one was stepping on top of the white flakes, the other had long pants and was dragging through the white flakes. They didn't seem to even notice they were there. Then I looked at my husband, he and I were walking on the white flakes too. He did not notice them either. I bent down and scooped up a handful and said, "What is it?" He gave a little glance and said, "I don't know." And out of the 4 of us I was the only one who was interested in these flakes. We walked farther down the road and someone told me the name of the flakes, but I don't recall the name. He also said they where "ready to harvest."
ReplyDeletelater, when awake I recalled this dream, and I know that in the Old Testament that the bread God fed the Children of Israel in the desert was called "manna," being interpreted, "what is it?" :)
The harvest truly is plentiful and not many are paying attention that it is harvest time. Our bread is from heaven, and that is to do the Father's will.
bless you guys! :)))
thats true Carolyn, our daily bread as we call these living words, are from our Heavenly Father. and yes i remember you shared this dream with us. :)
Deleteand i see this dream of your coming true, because we all know you are paying attention to the "words"(manna) which falls from heaven. :)

Thank you, for your reply, Manasseh. I did not notice until today that I have to "subscribe by email" below to get notifications of replies to my posts here. This is very good. :) Thank you, Jonathan for all of your wonderful work here. :) God is very good to us!
ReplyDeleteJonathan, I like all you wrote above. So many of us look to what we can achieve here on this earth by what we can gain and take hold of, riches and fame. These things are not what our hearts and minds should seek, but instead we should seek the true treasures of heaven where no dust corrupts, no thieves break in to steal. Our wages are in heaven. Now, here is also a difference. On earth we work for the wages we will earn. But for our Lord we work because we love him and he first loved us. We trust him and we know he will always provide for us now and in the life to come. We do all for his love and the love he gives us for all others. Truly God is great and he is good!
Bless you guys! :)
